The Wienerberger Showcase event was attended by Architects, Housebuilders, Merchants and key industry personnel. The day-long event addressed the growing need for sustainable and cost effective innovations and solutions in the challenging UK construction market.
As such, we brought together renowned experts from the building industry for our flagship showcase event and showed our innovative new products and systems and solutions.
The event consisted of a mini-exhibition displaying our core and new, innovative products plus a full schedule of presentations including CPDs and informative presentations by some well-known industry figures.

Industry experts speak at the event

Lead speakers included Jonathan Porritt, co-founder of Forum of the Future, eminent writer, broadcaster and commentator on sustainable development and Dan Cruickshank, an architectural historian, celebrated author and television presenter who has appeared on documentaries such as BBC4’s ‘A Tale of Two Cities’. Topics covered by Porritt and Cruickshank included the key aspects of sustainable future construction and the history of clay and architecture, respectively.
Dr Kristian Steele and James Ward presented the Wienerberger e4 brick house™ concept from global engineering firm, Arup, which has collaborated with Wienerberger on the ground-breaking design.

Sustainable and innovative concept unveiled

Unveiled at the Showcase and designed in conjunction with global engineering organisation ARUP, the Wienerberger e4 brick house™ was designed to demonstrate the future of affordable, sustainable housing in the UK. Over two years in development, the principle aim of the project is to engage and inspire Architects, Developers and Housebuilders and Homeowners.
