Our local communities have always been important to us and for several years now Wienerberger has had a relationship with Leeds College of Building (LCB), Roof, Slater & Tiling, Apprenticeship Programme. Every year their 1st year students visit our Broomfleet site for an educational tour allowing the learners to see how the tiles and ridges get manufactured before they see them arrive on-site, which they always find fascinating. We also, regularly send any imperfect roofing tiles, and on occasion ridges, to the College for the students to use in their practical course projects.
Most recently Sera Serfozo, Area Sales Manager and Kathryn Lister, Technical Adviser hosted a training session for LCB 2nd year students on All4Roof, our new property surveying tool, that provides all the elements you need to survey a roof, do the wind-load calculations, the fixing spec, the quantity estimate and more all backed up by a guarantee to seal the deal. What’s more you can use it whenever and wherever you are.

The students benefit in so many ways; being able to complete the rigs in full is very satisfying, using quality products gives them a pride in their projects and they also get to know Wienerberger as a brand and personally through Sera, Nigel and Kathryn.
The visits to the sites for our 1st year students to get an insight into roof tile production really sets them up for their course. Thank you for your continued support.”

Leeds College of Building (LCB) is the only further education college in the UK dedicated to construction and the built environment, making it nationally recognised for delivering courses and apprenticeships in this field. The College now delivers apprenticeships up to degree level.
