James Bros collaborated closely with the homeowner to identify the most suitable tiles from a choice of different manufacturers. After careful consideration, the team opted for Wienerberger's Barrow plain tile due to its outstanding qualities, in particular the clay tile’s durability and natural look. The cross-cambered plain tile offers a handcrafted appearance, making it the perfect choice for this project where the tiles needed to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding roofscape.
Once installed, the clay tile is there for the long run, as it’s one of the most durable materials to use in a roofing project. In addition, the firing process of clay tiles ensure that the colour is permanent and does not fade over time.
Matthew James, Director at James Bros Roofing Contractors, explained: “The tile's craftsmanship and attention to detail allowed us to recreate the original roof design effortlessly. As the colour, look, feel and quality of the Barrow tile matched the original, it was the perfect choice to meet the project’s requirements.
“Importantly, we allowed enough time to complete the intricate craftsmanship required on this roof, and finalised the project within budget too, which is obviously of huge importance for the homeowner. The Wienerberger team liaised closely with us throughout the project and helped us keep to the agreed timelines.”
