The roof design at Copperleaf played it's part to achieving the desired balance between the building's modern aesthetic and its historic context. The choice of roofing materials was particularly important, as it needed to respect the traditional character of the nearby Victorian buildings while contributing to the clean, contemporary lines of the new structure. The roof's warm tones and slim profile provided a subtle yet effective complement to the overall design, ensuring that the building blended seamlessly into its surroundings.
The roofing system was chosen not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its performance and sustainability credentials. The system included interlocking tiles that provided a coordinated and tidy finish, enhancing the roof’s durability while minimising material waste during installation. The gable ends were carefully detailed to echo the historic neighbouring buildings, with timber barge boards adding a subtle reference to the traditional architectural elements nearby.
