A-Z Paving Terminology

A layer of fine material such as sharp or ‘builders’ sand which is laid under the pavers, and sometimes over a sub-base, which is a compressible bed for your paving.

It allows you to lay your pavers on top of whatever is underneath and keep your paving flat.
