wienerberger's dedication to fostering talent and excellence in architectural education has culminated in an initiative designed to empower students wishing to complete their RIBA Part 3 with the MSA, offering them a bursary of £1,000 each. We believe that by alleviating financial pressures, we can unlock the potential of these aspiring professionals, enabling them to focus on their studies and practical experience without undue burden.
The bursary programme was open to candidates enrolled in MSA’s PgCert Architecture and Contemporary Practice who had secured an offer to study. It targets three key groups:
- Those who have faced extraordinary or unforeseen events impacting their income.
- Candidates demonstrating excellence in their studies and early career.
- Individuals with a keen interest in brick construction, particularly from a sustainable perspective.
Our aim is not just to support these students financially but to engage with them throughout their year of study, providing guidance, resources, and mentorship to enrich their educational experience.
Rachel Newton, Senior Lecturer, Manchester School of Architecture, commented, “Financial support such as this fantastic opportunity provided by wienerberger, enables students from a wide range of backgrounds to progress their career regardless of differing socio-economic circumstances. The architectural profession is changing constantly, and it is crucial that we recognise, support and champion diversity in the profession."
