This project used Wienerberger’s beautifully textured Hathaway Brindle, a handformatic brick which emulates a traditional, handcrafted appearance.

The Hathaway Brindled red soft mud creased multi brick was used to great effect as the external façade of the prestigious Druidstone Grange development in South Wales.

The exclusive development of four stunning detached manor houses is located in one of the most upmarket areas of Cardiff. In creating this aspirational development and one of the most sought after addresses in the city, only the highest specification of materials was considered.

Leighton Morgans, land and planning director for bespoke developer Waterstone Homes, specified the brick himself. He said: “These are incredibly luxurious homes and internally they offer every modern comfort and convenience that is expected of a property with a six figure price tag."

The kerb appeal was vital and our experience has shown that while they want contemporary interiors, our buyers prefer the exterior of their homes to have character.

Leighton continues, “The heritage appearance of the Hathaway Brindled bricks is reminiscent of times gone by and contributed to the overall grandeur of the property. It’s creased texture and varying colour tones emulates the look of a house that is hundreds of years old. Yet, because the bricks are new and not reclaimed, the individual blocks are much easier to work with, and the build therefore more efficient.
